PRIVATE RANGE INSTRUCTION
Gunjock’s private firearms instruction sessions are designed to deliver high-impact, personalized training in a focused two-hour format. Whether you’re working with a handgun, carbine, PCC, or defensive shotgun, each session is tailored to your skill level and training goals—be it self-defense, LTC qualification, or competitive shooting.
Curriculum topics may include:

Safety & Core Skills: Weapon handling, loading/unloading, grip, stance, and fundamentals

Manipulation & Control: Drawing from concealment, reloads, malfunction clearing

Defensive Techniques: Movement, recoil management, and decision-making under stress

Competition Development: Efficiency, transitions, and stage execution

LTC Qualification Prep or Completion (if applicable)

Each session is customized to ensure progress without overwhelming pace. Whether it’s your first time on the range or you’re refining advanced skills, this 2-hour block is structured to deliver lasting improvement. Please indicate firearms platform you’ll be training with, as selecting the ‘Include LTC Qualification’ (if applicable) at checkout.

Once purchased, you must contact us to schedule your 2-hour private range session. Private instruction is available 7 days a week, and must be booked 10 business days in advance. Typically we try and book private range sessions 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM in the warmer months.

PREREQUISITES
Open to students of all skill levels, including first-time shooters.
TEXAS LTC COMPATIBLE
This class meets the Range Instruction and Handgun Proficiency training requirements, and is taught by a Texas DPS certified LTC instructor. If you are attending this class to satisfy your LTC training requirement, please make sure to select the ‘Include LTC Qualification’ at checkout. Once you’ve booked your class, please email a PDF copy of your form LTC-100 or LTC-104 to ltc@gunjock.com at least 48 hours prior to class date.
CLASS CURRICULUM
Every private instruction session at Gunjock is tailored to the individual shooter. Whether you’re training with a handgun, carbine, PCC, or defensive shotgun, your curriculum is shaped by your current skill level and personal objectives—be it self-defense, Texas LTC qualification, or competitive performance.
Instruction may include:

Fundamentals & Safety: Firearm handling, loading/unloading, stance, grip, trigger control, sight alignment

Firearms Manipulation: Drawing from a holster, reloads (emergency/tactical), malfunction clearing

Defensive Skills: Movement, recoil control, cover usage, scan-and-assess techniques, post-engagement mindset

Competition Readiness: Stage planning, transitions, efficiency under time, match preparation and coaching

LTC Range Qualification: Conducted by a certified Texas DPS LTC Instructor and includes full prep if needed

Custom Drills & Diagnostics: Based on real-time feedback, with an emphasis on measurable improvement
Training is conducted at a pace that supports learning, retention, and safe progression. Every session is a working partnership between instructor and student—built to deliver focused, real-world skill that carries beyond the range.
GEAR & OTHER ITEMS
This is an outdoor session held rain or shine, so please come prepared for Texas weather. Your gear list may vary slightly based on the firearm platform and training purpose, but students should plan to bring:

Ammunition:

Handgun or PCC: ~200 rounds (FMJ, TMJ, Lead — no steel)

Carbine or Shotgun: consult instructor for platform-specific round count

Magazines / Loaders:

At least 2 for semi-autos / speed loaders for revolvers or appropriate spare magazines for long guns

Holster (if applicable): Strong-side, OWB preferred, must fully cover the trigger and guard

Sturdy gun belt and appropriate clothing (pants/shorts with at least 5 belt loops)
- Sling – For carbine classes

Magazine pouches or loaders

Eye and ear protection

Hat, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing
