Gunjock LLC’s own Sean Young recently competed in The Western 2024 IDPA Regional Championship, hosted by the Sacramento Defensive Pistol Shooters (SDPS) and presented by Redline Ballistics. Held May 3–5, 2024, at the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center in Sloughhouse, CA, this regional event brought together some of the nation’s most experienced competitors for three days of high-level shooting on challenging, technical stages.
“It’s always a pleasure to come back to my old home away from home to shoot this match. For most of my shooting career, I called this facility home—not only for teaching, but as the former club president of SDPS and one of the founding members of The Western.
This match was no different than prior years: deceptively challenging stages, a great staff, incredible food, and all held at a world-class facility, the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center.
The weather was uncooperative for those of us who shot on Saturday, but I managed to escape Day 1 unscathed. I got a slow start, but my performance kept improving on Day 2.
